FAST Assessments

As part of our progress monitoring in math and reading, MPS administers the FAST assessment test 3 times per year. This tool is used to measure growth in mathematics and reading during the school year.

Crew Leaders distributed the FAST reports to students February 14, so that families could see their students’ growth. If you have any questions about your student’s FAST report, please contact Assistant Principal Angie Ness at angie.ness@mpls.k12.mn.us.

Eighth Grade Ski Trip

The eighth graders will be skiing at Hyland Hills on Thursday, March 7. This is a favorite field trip each year among eighth graders and we are very excited to take this year's group. Lessons are provided, as is equipment. Cost is $35 to cover lift tickets, equipment, lessons and transportation. Cost for families who qualify for free/reduced lunch is $20. Cost for students with season passes to Hyland is $15. 

Permission slips will be handed out Thursday or Friday in social studies classes. Please be on the lookout for them!

Yearbook Orders

It's time to order yearbooks! Place your order by April 12, 2019. The yearbook costs $7.
There are two ways to order:

  • Online. Click the Tickets button, and pay by credit or debit card. Note: online orders incur an additional processing fee of $1.13, for a total charge of $8.13.
  • Print and complete a paper order form and send it with cash or a check to school. If paying by check, please make the check payable to Justice Page Middle School PTA. Paper forms can be dropped off either in the Main Office, or with students’ Crew leaders. A few paper forms are also available in the Main Office.

If your student regularly uses a name other than the name on their district records, please submit a name change request form to use their preferred name in the yearbook.

Future City Finals

The Lost Phoenix, one of Justice Page Middle School’s Future City teams, spent the last few days participating in Future City Finals in Washington, DC on behalf of MN and JPS. The Lost Phoenix was one of 43 state and international teams to make the finals. While they didn’t bring home any awards this year, they did an amazing job with their presentation and represented us well. Congratulations!

Mural Designs

Fifth Annual Page-Washburn Battle of the Bands!

Calling all bands...The 5th Annual Page-Washburn Battle of the Bands is coming soon: Sunday, May 19, from 3 to 6 pm, at the Uptown VFW. For families new to Page, this event features Page and Washburn student and staff bands, facing off for bragging rights and an amazing traveling guitar trophy beautified by our own Ms. Cedarleaf-Dahl.

Does your band have what it takes? Registration is now open! This is a first come, first booked, sign-up process. Please make sure to review the guidelines and enter all needed information. May the best band win!

Vote for Art! We had several creative and courageous entries in our Battle of the Bands art contest, and now we need your help choosing which artwork belongs on this year’s posters and t-shirts! Please take a minute and vote for your favorites. Voting has been extended through Friday, February 22. Get your votes in now!

Washburn Spring Sports Registration Night

When: Monday, February 25, 5-7 PM
Where: Washburn Main Gym: enter through Door 5
What: Turn in paperwork, meet coaches, get practice and game schedules, pay fees
Who should attend: Any 7th or 8th grade students planning to participate in a spring sport at Washburn!

Spring sports include: Coed Badminton, Boys Baseball, Boys and Girls Golf, Boys and Girls Lacrosse, Girls Softball, Boys Tennis, and Coed Track.

Participation fees vary depending on the sport. Students eligible for free/reduced lunch may apply for reduced participation fees. Please contact Washburn Athletic Director Reggie Perkins at Reginald.Perkins@mpls.k12.mn.us to apply for reduced fees.

Please note that some high school teams will have tryouts and may have cuts.

Black History Month Event

Where: Franklin Middle School, 1501 Aldrich Ave. N., Mpls.

Join us for student performances and keynote speaker Mauri Freistleben, Principal at Lucy Laney Community School.

A light meal will be provided. Childcare and transportation will be available.

Cardboard Wanted

Upcoming Page Parties

What’s a Page Party you ask? You may already know them as Great Gatherings, Adventures, or FUNdraisers from your elementary school. But for those uninitiated, Page Parties are social gatherings that JPS parents host in their homes and elsewhere. Tickets will be sold online on a rolling basis, until events fill. All proceeds will help support and enhance JPS classroom activities. Events range in price and activities in order to appeal to all families and interests.

3rd Annual Rocker Rendezvous
Saturday, March 23, 2019 7:00 – 11:30 PM
Don your favorite concert tee and mingle with fellow Page parents for an evening of food, drinks, and music. This party will feature the music of Justice Page’s own rock legends ‘Staff Infection’ and will raise funds to support the arts at Justice Page. Grab some friends and get your VIP backstage passes here!

7th Grade Mom’s Brunch

7th grade moms, let’s take the morning to gather for a light brunch to celebrate the halfway point of middle school and spring. Catch up with good friends and meet a few new fellow Justice Page moms.
