2018 Give to the Max Day

One of the things that makes Page exceptionally unique within MPS is its focus on STEAM integration in class curricula. The staff, friends, and families of the Justice Page community have done an astounding job of supporting this; the strength of this program continues to grow and would not be possible without them.

In 2016, our Give to the Max campaign raised the money to build the Makerspace at Justice Page. Because of that Makerspace, 2017 brought a grant and support of the Science Museum of Minnesota to assist JPS in fundraising to bring the Makerspace to the next level by outfitting it with sewing machines, 3D printers and supplies, and STEAM kits.

Every single student uses the Makerspace in a school year. Whether it is for the Future City classes that have put JPS on the national map, for the annual STEAM projects during Crew, building catapults in Science class and musical instruments in Music, or the creation of 3D sculptures in Art.

Our 2018 Give to the Max day will focus on providing the STEAM Makerspace with the computers necessary to maximize the capabilities of the new STEAM kits: Makey Makeys and Arduinos. Please mark your calendars for Give to the Max Day on Thursday, November 15 and consider making a gift to support JPS’ unique STEAM program.

There will be more details to come in the weeks leading up to November 15.
