My name is Erik Hensel, and I am proud to be an Assistant Principal at Justice Page Middle School. 

I started working in education in 2005, as an English Language teacher in Argentina for 18 months, and then earned dual teaching licenses in Spanish and English as a Second Language in 2007.  I worked for 10 years in the Apple Valley/Eagan/Rosemount district as a Spanish teacher before getting my administrative license in 2017.  I came to Minneapolis Public Schools in 2018 and worked at Wellstone High School as an Administrative TOSA until 2020.  I then worked at the MPS District Office for two years as the District-Wide Magnet Administrative TOSA before joining Justice Page in summer 2022. 

I’m honored to be part of Justice Page Middle School’s wonderful administrative team and I’m excited to bring my bilingual/bicultural background and my experience in supporting and strengthening academic programming to the students, families and staff at Justice Page middle school.  

I live in the Diamond Lake neighborhood of Minneapolis with my wife Gisela, who is a middle school Spanish Immersion teacher, and my son who is an elementary school student in MPS.  You can see our family frequently biking on the Minnehaha Creek Trail, going around either Lake Nokomis or Lake Harriet.

Mi nombre es Erik Hensel, y estoy orgulloso de ser subdirector en Justice Page Middle School.

Empecé a trabajar en educación en 2005, como maestro de inglés en Argentina por 18 meses.  Luego saqué las licencias de maestro en español e inglés como segundo idioma en 2007.  Trabajé por 10 años en el distrito de Apple Valley/Eagan/Rosemount como maestro de español, y saqué mi licencia administrativa en 2017.  Vine a Minneapolis Public Schools en 2018 como administrador en Wellstone High School.  Después trabajé en la oficina central del distrito coordinando programación académica especializada por 2 años hasta mi llegada a Justice Page en el verano de 2022. 

Estoy honrado de ser parte del equipo administrativo de Justice Page Middle School, y contento de traer mis habilidades bilingües y biculturales para hacer conexiones con estudiantes, maestros y familias, y usar mi experiencia para apoyar y mejorar la programación académica de Justice Page. 

Vivo en el barrio cercano de Diamond Lake en Minneapolis con mi esposa Gisela, que es una maestra de inmersión y nació en Argentina, y mi hijo que es estudiante de primaria en MPS. 

Nuestra familia disfruta de andar en bicicleta en el camino de Minnehaha Creek, dando vuelta a los lagos Nokomis o Harriet.
