My name is Angel Dwyer, and I am the 7th-8th grade Resource Reading and Writing Teacher at Justice Page. I am also the case manager for many 8th grade students on IEPs.
I’ve taught in Minneapolis since 2011, and my focus is engaging students through project-based learning and critical thinking. I team-teach with 7th and 8th grade ELA and 8th grade Science teachers in the general education setting to provide students with access to general education curriculum, classes, and expectations by adapting work to meet student needs. I expect your student to be an active learner, set individual goals that are important to them, and practice critical thinking skills. In return, I will work diligently to team with teachers, students, and you, the guardians, to increase your student’s skills for next year and beyond.
Course Description: Resource Reading and Literacy classes will focus on building reading and writing skills through daily writing, note-taking, art integration, discussions, texts, and project-based assessments. Specific skills are addressed in classes to meet student objectives and goals on IEPs.
Together we got this!
