Marhaba!

My name is Ustaadha Mari (Teacher Mari) and I am so excited to be working with you in the Arabic classroom this year! I learned Arabic as a high schooler and I studied in Amman, Jordan and throughout the Middle East, and I have a B.A. from Middlebury College and an M.A. in Arabic from the University of Minnesota. I've worked in youth Arabic programs for middle and high schoolers on the east coast before moving to Minneapolis in 2020, and most recently I taught intro Arabic at UMN while getting my graduate degree.

I love traveling, biking, collaging, singing and getting involved with my community-- I am so happy to be a Rhino this year!
