Chris Halvorson

I was born and raised in Northern Minnesota. I have two energetic sons, Riley, 9, and Boede, 7. We enjoy spending time outdoors, being with family, learning, and traveling.

For the 2017/2018 school year I will be teaching 6th grade math. I have been teaching for 19 years. I started teaching in Bemidji, MN as a math teacher and taught for 3 years in Columbia Heights, MN. From 2002 to 2012 I was an elementary teacher and a math teacher in Las Vegas, NV. In 2012, I decided to move back to Minnesota to raise my boys with the same values that I was raised with.

After being a teacher for 19 years, I have decided that there is no better job than teaching. Each day I am constantly amazed when I watch students grow and learn. In addition to working with students, it is very rewarding to work with their parents. As partners in the student’s education, it is imperative that the parents and I collaborate to help their student succeed.
