As we move closer to the winter season, here’s a reminder on how MPS handles school during bad weather.

The Superintendent makes the decision to cancel school or after-school activities based on the safety of our students and staff, severity and timing of weather, and the ability for buses and cars to travel safely.

If the Superintendent decides to cancel school or activities, you will be alerted by phone calls, emails, and/or texts, as well as social media (FacebookTwitter), the MPS website, the JPS website, radio, and your local news television station.

Be sure to stay informed on things happening at MPS by:

  • updating your contact information with JPS by calling 612-668-4040.
  • updating your communications preferences in School Messenger.
