Rebecca Marban
My name is Rebecca Marban. I am one of the Spanish teachers at JPMS, and this will be my fourth year at Justice Page Middle School and 9th year with Minneapolis Public Schools. I am originally from Chicago born and raised, and my parents are from Mexico. Therefore, I grew up in a fully bilingual household. I am very proud of my Mexican-American heritage, and encourage all students to learn a second language, as it will open the doors for more opportunities for work, to travel, and exchange ideas with people.
I attended the University of Illinois at Chicago and received my B.A in teaching of Spanish in 2009. In the Fall of 2016 I completed my M.Ed in Youth Development Leadership at the University of Minnesota. Prior to teaching middle school, I taught high school Spanish in Chicago for 3 years and then worked with elementary school students at Emerson Spanish Immersion School for 5 years. As you can see I enjoy working with students of all ages, and have a special soft spot for middle school.
In my free time I enjoy traveling, running, hiking, baking, and spending time with family and friends. I am very excited to be part of the Justice Page team, and help students gain Spanish proficiency. It's going to be a great year!
