Kelly Marr

My name is Kelly Marr and I have the privilege of teaching 6th grade English Language Arts at Justice Page this year. I have been teaching middle school for Minneapolis Public Schools since 2007 and am so excited to be here for our sixth year as a middle school.

I earned my teaching degree through Hamline University’s Master in Teaching program where I received licenses in Elementary and in Middle School Language Arts. I then completed my K-12 Reading endorsement through Concordia University and completed all my coursework for my Masters in Education.

Teaching middle school is my passion. My goal for my students is to help them become life long learners who know how to use reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills to think critically about issues in and outside of the classroom. I believe in learning that is individualized and differentiated to make each student’s literacy experiences more engaging and relevant to their lives. A large component of my teaching has been the use of new technologies in my classroom and I look forward to continuing to expand the role technology will play in my classroom at Justice Page.

I live in Bloomington with my husband Mike, our daughter Madelyn and our son, Leo. When I have free time I enjoy reading, (of course!), and spending time with my family. I look forward to working with you and your student this year. Please contact me through email if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
