Heather Miller-Kelley

I am thrilled to be teaching 8th Grade Global Studies at Justice Page Middle School for the 7th year!
I earned my B.A. at St. John's College in New Mexico in 1991 and my Masters of Education at the University of St. Thomas in 1998. I received my Middle Grades licensure from Hamline in 2000 with endorsements in both social studies and language arts and have been working with middle grades students in Minneapolis Public Schools ever since!
My goal is to provide rich learning opportunities for students of all abilities to make connections and think critically about their world.
I live in south Minneapolis with my husband, two sons, and our dog Tashi. I love to cook, garden, hike, canoe, cross-country ski, bike with my family, take walks around the lakes, and, of course, read!
My Beliefs and Philosophy
Students learn by making connections;
We are all learners;
In order to become global citizens, we must work to understand multiple points of view;
Effort creates ability;
Kindness first;
Equity for all;
Rhinos Rock!
Classwork, Homework, and Projects
All classwork, homework, and projects can be found on Google classroom, which students can access from anywhere, home, school, library, etc.
Students will log in to google classroom courses with their Minneapolis username and password.
