Andy Nelson
I am proud to be a part of the Justice Page Middle School music faculty! I have taught instrumental music in public schools for over ten years, including Ramsey Junior High in St. Paul, Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, and in the Brooklyn Center Public School system. Over this time I have been fortunate to collaborate with many composers-in-residence as well as work as an instructor with the JAM (Jazz Around Minneapolis) camp and Minnesota Youth Jazz Bands (MYJB). I developed a curriculum that stresses intrinsic motivation and empowers students to make decisions about their education.
I enjoy biking, running, golf, and learning the trombone. I live in St. Paul with an amazing wife, two wonderful sons, and two cats!
