My name is Josh Nutter and I am excited to be a part of the Justice Page Middle School team! I will be teaching 7th grade US Studies and 7th grade literacy this year.
I grew up in northern suburbs of Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota Duluth for my undergraduate degree in teaching social studies grades 5-12. I'm currently attending Saint Mary's University of Minnesota - Twin Cities campus to earn my Masters degree in learning design and technology.
I have taught Middle School Social Studies for ten years and I really enjoy working with middle schoolers. I enjoy their ability to investigate, ask questions, work collaboratively, and use their creativity. I challenge students to think "deeper" about history and relate topic and themes to their own lives in the 21st century. My favorite part of the US Studies curriculum is the History Day project which gives students a choice in their learning and allows for high academic growth.
In my "spare time", I enjoy spending time with my family, which includes our 18 month old twins Patrick and Audrey. I coach volleyball at school and club level and enjoy playing softball both competitively and recreationally.
Please don't hesitate to contact me with any thoughts/questions. I really do feel that it takes a collaborative effort for students to succeed in middle school!
