I believe effective teaching and learning emphasizes identity, intellect, criticality, creativity, and shared experiences, as well as the individual assets each student brings to the classroom. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to support the existing genius within each student and co-construct their learning experience with them and their families.

I have earned a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction, a teaching license in English as a Second Language, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Language. After graduating from college, I moved to South Korea, where I was born, to teach English as a Foreign Language. I expected to stay in Korea for a year, and I finally returned home to Minnesota after four years. This experience with elementary and middle grade students greatly influenced my decision to pursue a teaching career in the United States.

In addition to being a teacher, I am a mother, auntie, traveler, reader, knitter, and life-long learner.

Please do not hesitate to contact me!
