Snow Day Makeup

Thank you for your patience as we worked to determine potential snow make-up days for Minneapolis Public Schools. Recent action by the legislature allows most of our 70 schools to be held harmless for three of our seven snow days. With those three days waived, those schools are within the number of school days and hours (also known as “student contact time”) required by the State of Minnesota.
Unfortunately, due to Justice Page’s alternative calendar, even with those three days waived and the reduction of 4th quarter early releases, Page does not meet the state minimum for student contact time.

As a result, students at Page will be doing enrichment and instructional time on June 10 and 11. There are multiple ways that we will be offering the instruction and make up time.

We recognize that some families have already made plans for those days — vacations, summer camps, and the like. If that is the case for your family, parents should contact the Health office (612.668.4030 or JPS.Attendance@mpls.k12.mn.us) to report and excuse absences for yourstudent(s) on those days.

This was an unusual winter in many ways, not the least of which being the process to calculate make-up days in these unusual circumstances. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please contact Principal Rathke at erin.rathke@mpls.k12.mn.us with any questions.
