Do you remember when your child first smiled, expressing delight? Or when they found meaning in your words and went to get their shoes by themselves or said their first word? Like many of you, I can say that they were exciting moments. One of my greatest pleasures has been to help children develop and improve their communication skills. Children I have worked with in the schools and my own two children have been inspirational in my life and career.
I received my master's degree from The University of Milwaukee and have been working for Minneapolis Public Schools as a Speech and Language Pathologist since 2001. I provide services to evaluate and treat a variety of communication disorders associated with language, speech, and fluency.
When I am away from work I enjoy time spent at our home in Lino Lakes with family and friends. As far back as I can remember I have always loved being outdoors and nature, especially when I can go running, camping, plant flowers, or watch wildlife.
I am looking forward to knowing more about your child as I work with them. If you, your child's first and most important teacher, have any questions, concerns, joys, or just want to connect to share and help me get to know your child better I would welcome you to do so. The best way to reach me is by email, Rebecca.Thaney-Driessen@mpls.k12.mn.us.
